A little under three years ago Jenova 7 and Mr. Moods embarked on a time traveller journey with Volume 1. Fast forward, the trip-hop duo has resurfaced with Time Travellers II. Not deviating far away from their first effort, TTII is laced with their unique trip hop sounds that blend samples and live instrumentation seamlessly, with Hal McMillen and Josh Lawrence collaborating on the sax and horn.
For starters, this particular sound is what greatly inspired and influenced STERYO in its beginning stages. Primarily because it reminded us so much about traveling to London and being open minded about various cultures that live within our world. Quite honestly, this sound is more and more becoming obsolete not because of its limited cool status, but because beatmakers are outgrowing their desires to continue mining for gold within the confines of this sound.
Let it be known, we applaud Jenova 7 and Mr. Moods for continuing that desire to continue mining because after all that digging Time Travellers II is pure gold. We are very fortunate to be embraced by the presence of this record.
