Ascetic – Self Initiation

Ascetic - Self-Initiation

Ascetic is a dance rock group out of Melbourne, Australia whose new release Self Initiation is classified as: “exploring themes of union and dissociation, impossibly forgotten moments.” The album draws from “a collective obsession with fringe philosophy and post-new-age consciousness” and the album “evokes the moods & spaces of 4AD’s [British indie record label] early roster (Swans, Dead Can Dance, Cocteau Twins)…”

Self Initiation is described as “thick pulsing rhythms [that] erupt into glorious, cascading conclusion; from narcissistic rants, to sickly crooned anthems; from the outer regions of reality to the depths of the subconscious, a white shadow emerging from the process.”

The album was recorded, mixed & mastered at Birdland by Lindsay Gravina & Rob Long (HTRK, New War, Rowland S. Howard, Hungry Ghosts).
Ascetic’s Self Initiation was released worldwide through OSCL Records.
