Keith Price’s recent release – Bunch Of Fives Vol. 4 is the fourth of a five part series installment that has paid tribute to the drums patterns and samples of the late 80’s to early 90’s NEW YORK CITY style. All beats were made without sequencing, a systematic form that allows music to stay on track – just straight audio and overdubs. With this form of making music – timing is everything, one false move throw the entire track off course – meaning that one millisecond (at least to me) is highly noticeable, but Keith Price demonstrates that his “on-time” averages are the highest they’ve ever been since 1993.
***Shout out to MPC 2000XL and all subsequent machines for allowing timing to become extinct from human instincts.
